BFC SEE annual regional certificate award ceremony, organised by BFC Technical Secretariats as a part of Economics Conference Montenegro 2019 organised by Montenegro Chamber of Economy, was held on 24th October, in hotel Splendid, Budva.
In the presence of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro, Duško Marković, H.E. dr Robert Veber, Ambassador of Germany to Montenegro, high officials from the countries members of the BFC SEE network, businessmen, high officials of the municipalities from region and BFC SEE network representatives, certificates were awarded to the 15 of total 17 cities and municipalities which earned the title of Business Friendly Cities and Municipalities during 2019: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Maglaj, Zavidovići, Trebinje, Brod, Kakanj, Tešanj, Novi Grad, Žepče, Prnjavor, Bosanska Krupa i Bihać (BIH), Požarevac, Šabac, Ćuprija (Serbia), and Bijelo Polje (Montenegro) - the first local government in Montenegro, which met the conditions for obtaining the certificate.
- The BFC SEE program has proven not only as a good tool for improving services at the local level but also as a great platform for enhancing regional cooperation through the exchange of experience and good reform practices such as electronic building permits, simplified registration of seasonal workers, cadastre reform and more - stated German Ambassador to Montenegro, H.E. dr Robert Weber, at the opening of the Certificate Ceremony at the Economics Conference Montenegro 2019 in Budva.
The number of local governments from the regions that have obtained the certificate so far has risen to 54, while another 33 are in the process of certification. Analyzes have shown that the conditions for doing business in these environments are 70% better than in cities and municipalities that do not have this quality stamp and are almost three times more successful in attracting investment.
