Representatives of the BFC SEE Technical Secretariats from the SEE region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia) participated in a study visit to Berlin from 20th until 23rd of May 2019. The visit was organised by BFC SEE network with the support from GIZ ORF within the project "Partners for Local Economic Development: Development Partnerships with the private sector in BFC SEE municipalities".
Participants had the opportunity to meet with the associations such as Agency for Business and Economic Development (AWE) and German Eastern Business Association (OAOEV) with the aim to share experience and further develop mutual cooperation in the field of local economic development.
BFC SEE delegation also visited the City of Potsdam and met with the Head of Department of Economic Development of the City in order to learn more on how a relatively small local self-government deal with local businesses and potential investors. During this visit to the City of Potsdam, BFC SEE delegation also had a meeting with the representatives of one successful local company that shared their perspective of cooperation with the local self-government and other governmental instances.
Apart from learning new experiences and practices in improving local economic development, the aim of the study visit was to present the BFC SEE network to the relevant institutions and establish contacts for further cooperation.
